For motorists Motoriety is here to assist in the administration of your vehicle(s) including finding a garage for service and repair and suitable associated products and services. It also provides a storage portal to keep all of your documents safe in one location. For Garages, Motoriety can help you find new business particularly promoting excellent customer service by its reviews process.

In order to facilitate a proactive service it is necessary for Motoriety to collect data on you and pass this to trusted third parties.  Our Privacy Policy below explains how we will manage your data in more detail.

Motoriety UK Limited (‘Motoriety’) takes your privacy very seriously. We ask that you read this Privacy Policy carefully as it contains important information about what to expect when Motoriety collects personal information about you and how Motoriety will use your personal data.

In this Policy ‘we, us and our’ refers to Motoriety and ‘you or your’ refers to any person or business accessing www.motoriety.co.uk

1.1.   When you do business with us/register for our service and/or as required we collect  the following personal information about you:

1.1.2.      postal address, email address, telephone number, date of birth;

1.1.3.      your vehicle(s);

1.1.4.      any other information that may be applicable to your vehicle and any products or services applicable to your vehicle including but not limited to servicing, repairs and insurance; and

1.2.Occasionally we may receive information about you from other sources (such as credit reference agencies) which we will add to the information which we already hold about you in order to help us specify purposes, e.g. provide goods and services.

2.      How we will use the information about you

2.1.   We gather this information to:

2.1.1.      process your registration;

2.1.2.      maintain a full certified history of your vehicle;

2.1.3.      provide you with relevant offers from third parties relating to your vehicle(s);

2.1.4.      we and other carefully selected third parties may use your information to keep you informed by email about current and new products and services which may be of interest to you. We may also use the information you supply to keep you informed of current or new products and services, perform market research or to remind you when vehicle-related maintenance or insurance renewals are due.

2.2.   Where necessary you consent to our processing data that is defined as sensitive by the Data Protection Act such as data relating to your health or offences for the above purposes.

2.3.   We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us to develop our website and our services. We may also provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify you.

2.4.   We will use your data for our own research, which may include but is not limited to, tracking any purchases or for the purpose of detecting and investigating potential fraud.

3.      Our use of cookies and other information-gathering technologies

3.1.   We use independent companies to measure and analyse how people use our website. They use cookies to gather and collate information such as the number of pages viewed on the site, the number of visitors and common ways of arriving at or leaving the site. We do not store your password as provided, a hash of your password is stored. This means we do not know your password and therefore will not be able to send you a reminder. Forgotten passwords must be reset. All documents you upload to our service are encrypted at rest and all communication with our system is done via SSL.

4.2.   We use the industry standard secure sockets layer (SSL) 256-bit encryption technology to ensure that all your personal and transactional information is encrypted before transmission. To check that you are in a secure area of our website look at the top of your browser and you will see a closed padlock. All this technology and our policies are to safeguard your privacy from unauthorised access/improper use and we will continue to update these measures as new technology becomes available

5.2.   We regret that due to the functionality of other websites that connect to the Site it is only possible to provide the services for vehicles registered in the UK.

You may ask us, or we may ask you, to correct information you or we think is inaccurate, and you may also ask us to remove information which is inaccurate.

The marketing of relevant goods and services is an integral and core activity of the Motoriety service and believe that this will be beneficial to you.  We therefore regret that if you unsubscribe from marketing activity certain other functionality of the Site will not be available to you including reminder of key legal, administrative and maintenance requirements and tailored offers in relation to your vehicle ownership.

7.3.   We wish specifically draw your attention to our terms and conditions concerning information that you post or submit to us.  You irrevocably agree for us to use such information in any manner we see fit (including reproduction, transmission, publication, broadcast, and posting on any media and anywhere in the world) on a free of charge basis.

8.1.   We keep our Privacy Policy under regular review. If we change our Privacy Policy we will post the changes on this page, and place notices on other pages of the website, so that you may be aware of the information we collect and how we use it at all times. 10.1.             Our website contains links to other websites. This Privacy Policy only applies to this website so when you access link to other websites you should read their own privacy policies.

10.2.            If you use links on our website that lead you to external websites (including when you link through to complete the insurance quotation process and purchase an insurance policy), we will have no control over the way your information will be processed. As other websites may handle your information in a different way, we recommend that you check the privacy policies of each website that you visit

11.  Password

11.1.             In order to provide you with maximum protection, we ask you to choose a password to access your data on our website. In many instances, this password will also access the vehicle related information and allow you to search for insurance quotes using the comparison service provided by Seopa Ltd. Your password is unique to you and helps us to protect your personal information. You must keep this password safe and must not disclose it to anyone. You will need your password to access your personal information and potentially to buy cover through one of the insurance providers. Please contact us if you want to change your password for any reason.

11.2.            Once you provide your password during registration, it is stored in a secure way so that we do not know it. Although, if you forget your password don’t panic! Simply click on forgotten password and we will send you a reset link.
